Seniors often feel that they
lose the power to make choices as they grow older, but what does that
mean? Life has been and always will be
full of choices. In fact, so many
choices present themselves that the whole concept is absolutely mind
boggling. Your options are
limitless. You are faced with making
choices from the minute that you get up in the morning until you go to bed at
night. Choices revolve around every
conscious act; about what you think, what you eat and everything that you do.
It is up to you to be responsible for making healthy choices and reaping the rewards.
The worst choice that you
can make is to do nothing. With so many
options for everything from the foods you eat to when and where you exercise;
it is not easy to know where to start.
Much as we hate it admit it; we get into a rut and find ourselves doing
the same things over and over again. We
are too lazy to exercise our options and before you know it, other people start
making your choices for you. It doesn’t
have to be that way. Speak up; even if
it just means wanting to wear a pink shirt instead of a blue one, or having a
cereal for breakfast instead of eggs. If
you don’t speak up and make your wishes known, no one will know you are still
home, if you know what I mean.
Start to make changes right
now. Choose to like the things that are
good for you. Choose to eat healthy
foods, choose to go to the gym, and choose to take care of yourself mentally
and physically. If you consciously
involve yourself in making choices you will remain in control much longer than
you think.
Aging is something that can
have control over. There are things that
you can do right now that will shift the odds from having a short miserable
life toward having a vibrant and interesting one. Your lifespan is pretty much determined by
what you do from the minute you are born.
Taking control of your life and making healthy choices means tackling each section of your life and making
sure that it is working for you.
You gain so much by
maintaining a healthy lifestyle. You
will gain greater quality of life as you age.
Don’t you want to live a healthy, drug free life? If you want to wake up
every morning feeling good about yourself it is important to make healthy choices.
